Developmental psychology is concerned with the course and causes of developmental changes over a person’s entire lifetime. 2 Associate Prof. Dr. Amal Basaddik Stages of Prenatal Development The prenatal period extends from conception to birth and lasts about 266 days. It consists of three successive phases: the germinal, embryonic, and fetal stages. Is the first stage of prenatal development and refers to the Germinal two-week period following conception.
