# Motivation, Needs, Interests, Attitudes, and Values - Each personality undergoes a dynamic process and development. - It represents itself in the behavior. ## Motivation - Behavior is determined by our motivation and there are two basic models. * **Model of lacking** - my behavior is influenced by lacking something, feeling of emptiness that needs to be fulfilled. (e.g., I am tired - I take a nap) * **Model of releasing** - my behavior is influenced by realizing the extra energy. (e.g., I am tired - I yell at my friend) Motivation is triggered by a conflict that we experience and then we choose between various ways for our motives and behavior. * **a)** Conflict between 2 positive motives (to spend money either for theatre or the book) * **b)** Conflict between 1 positive and 1 negative motive (either to go to see a doctor to avoid the test or to go to school to write the test) * **c)** Conflict between 2 negative motives (to choose less bad situation for me) ## In Motivation, the person can be: * **a)** Aware of the reason for motivation (I am interested in the subject because I like English songs). * **b)** Not aware of the reason for motivation (I do not see the reason why I do something). ## Needs They are significant factors for motivation. American psychologist A. Maslow created a so-called Pyramid of Needs.
