Central/North Asia - The northernmost part of Central Asia is a tundra. It is treeless and very cold. Three types of grasslands that belong to central Asia. 1.Tundra 2. Steppe 3.Taiga South Asia - is a big peninsula with islands. River systems can be found here like the Indus, Ganges, Krishna, and Brahmaputra,. The two island countries are Maldives and Sri Lanka West Asia - West Asia is divided into physical regions. These are the Northern Tier composed of Anatolia and Iran, Arabian Peninsula, the Fertile Crescent, and the island of Cyprus and Socotra in Yemen. The fertile crescent covers the rich fertile land East Asia - Is a big land with islands. The Pacific Ocean, Gobi Desert, Mongolian Plateau, Tibet, and parts of the Himalayan Mountain Range surround it. Taiwan and Japan are island countries. - River systems such as the longest river in the region - the Yangtze River, and the Huang Ho River (Yellow River) flow in this region. Both rivers can be destructive when they flood as they destroy communities and farmlands. - Island countries can also be found here like Japan and Taiwan. These islands are part of the Pacific Ring of Fire that makes these lands regularly experience earthquakes Southeast Asia - Southeast Asia is divided into two physical regions namely, Mainland Southeast Asia - A peninsula surrounded by the west philippine sea. Insular Southeast Asia- Composed of archipelagos, Part of pacific ring of fire. - Active volcanoes are also found in the region like Mayon, Krakatoa, Pinatubo, Kelut, and many more. Countries located in mainland and insular Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, Thailand. Pacific Ring of Fire - Is a tectonic belt of volcanoes and earthquakes. - Would be really bad if all the volcanoes erupted at once Huang Ho and the Yangtze River of China - Considered as the “Cradle of Chinese Civilization” because these were where the first Chinese settlements emerged and continued to flourish through the centuries The First Civilization - It was located in Mesopotamia and began among the banks of the Tigris and Euphrates - Water is important for a civilization to thrive The Indus Civilization - Emerges along the Indus River which begins from southwestern Tibet, flows through parts of India and through the heart of Pakistan, the Ganges River.
