Conjunctions help link ideas, show relationships, and clarify meaning. Types of Conjunctions: 1. Coordinating Conjunctions: Connect words, phrases, or clauses of equal importance. Examples: and, but, or, so, yet - I like reading books, and I also enjoy watching movies. 2. Subordinating Conjunctions: Connect a dependent clause to an independent clause. Examples: because, since, after, although, if, unless, until - I went to the store because I needed milk. 3. Correlative Conjunctions: Used in pairs to connect words or phrases of equal importance. Examples: both...and, either...or, not only...but also - I like both coffee and tea. Functions of Conjunctions: 1. Joining words/phrases: Connects words or phrases to form a sentence. 2. Connecting clauses: Links independent or dependent clauses. 3. Showing relationships: Indicates cause-and-effect, contrast, or addition. 4.
