COMMON COMMANDS Beam ladder when a ladder is flat on the ground and you lift it onto one beam. READY- MOVE Every time the ladder is moved or manipulated. Example: Suitcase carry- ready move. OR Overhead clear, beam raise- ready Move. OR Extending fly- Ready move. Ground Ladd...
COMMON COMMANDS Beam ladder when a ladder is flat on the ground and you lift it onto one beam. READY- MOVE Every time the ladder is moved or manipulated. Example: Suitcase carry- ready move. OR Overhead clear, beam raise- ready Move. OR Extending fly- Ready move. Ground Ladder when a ladder is being carried, then it set onto beam. Bed Ladder when a ladder is laying on a beam, then laid onto its bed section. Forward, stop, Halt commands that will tell other team members when carrying ladders Right, left turn- commands that will let the firefighters know what direction they are heading. Overhead clear- said when you visually check for overhead hazards such as power lines and trees. Extend fly- when the firefighter pulls the halyard and the fly section is extended. Ladder to building- once that ladder is at the desired height and it is placed against the building. Ladder from building- when a ladder is pulled or pushed away from the building. All Dogs locked- command when all dogs are securely locked against the rungs. Ground the Butt- the place in which the Butt is placed for a ladder raise. Ladder coming through- Gives advance warning to surrounding individuals that you are coming through with a ladder. High- When the ladder is extended to the desired height. Rotate Ladder: The firefighter in charge will slap the beam that he wants to rotate and what direction they intend to turn it. Do not use Right/Left terminology because it will confuse the person opposite of you. Example of proper usage: “(Slaps beam) rotate to me/you” FINGERS AND TOES CLEAR!- A reminder to FF’s that the fly is moving and to keep clear Tips Square, Dogs Locked, Halyards secured, Butts grounded, Climbing angle is good.
