Two (2) types of software are Description system software and application software. Examples : Operating systems (Windows, Linux), word processor (MS Word), Internet browser (Google Chrome), etc. Hardware and software are mutually dependent. a) A computer uses both its hardware and software to process data and information b) Software is designed to run on hardware. Its capabilities are limited by the hardware capacities it runs on c) Hardware cannot perform useful functions without instructions from software 6 7 8 9 WHAT IS INTERNET?.. 10 The word “Internet” full form is a combination of the prefix “inter-,“ from the Latin word “inter” meaning “between” or “among,” and “net” that is short for “network,” so Internet simply means, “among or between networks.” The Internet is a global network of billions of computers and other electronic devices. With the Internet, it's possible to access almost any information, communicate with anyone else in the world, and do much more. 11 The APRANET was established by the Advanced Research Projects Agency (ARPA) of the United States Department of Defense.
