SUMMARY CHAPTER 16 Recent trends in HRM Technology is the main driver of the change in the whole corporate globally. Every employee is expected to be tech savvy and skilled enough to absorb rapid changes. So learning-unlearning -relearning has become the new path of growth. Excess of technology in business dehumanizes relationships at workplace. Balance between technology and relationships is to be ensured by HRM. HRM should ensure the extent to which technology and manual functions. Impact of technology driven functions: manufacturing units have converted manmachine production into robotic production. There is a need for critical mass of human resources who are adaptable to quick changes. The key driver to the changes in an organization is the HR department. They need to recognize and address the changes even before they occur. Due to Covid19 pandemic, many organizations resorted to the new way of workingWork from Home. Challenges of WFH for organization are to device a creative approach for employee engagement, empowerment, and delivery of job functions from employees by modifying policies, procedures, and processes. The biggest challenge was to ensure accountability and timely delivery of quality output. Attendance in office for production, logistics was organized despite constraints. Challenges of WFH for employees were improper ambience, poor internetwork connectivity, hardware etc. organizations took initiative of equipping the employees adequately. New way of working from home has been continued as it may save cost and time. Future organizations would create HR policies considering WFH as a norm. ______________________________________________________________________ Internal
