## Error Messages and Problems (9 of 11) ### Errors With Hardware and Device Drivers (continued) * If the blue screen does not identify a device but names a program file: * Open File Explorer or Windows Explorer to locate the program file, right-click the file and select Properties from the shortcut menu * The Details tab tells you the purpose of the file * Reinstall the device or program that caused the problem * If you cannot start Windows in Safe mode: * Use Windows RE to open a command prompt window, back up the registry, open the Registry Editor * Drill down to the service or device key * Disable the service or driver by changing the Start value to 0x4 * Reboot
