7 CHRIST: HIS RESURRECTION Ive heard that lesus' disciples stole His body and then lied about the resurrection. Is there really proof that Christ rose bodily from the dead? THE IMPORTANCEOF THE RESURRECTION Many peopleoverlook the importance of the resurrection of Christ to the Christian faith. Turn to 1Corinthians 15. Notice verses 14, 17, and 18. Revelation 1:4-7 What facts show that Christ rose from the dead? THE EMPTY TOMB Look up these verses and state the proofs for the bodily resurrection: Matthew 28:6; Mark 16:6; Luke 24:3, 12; John 20:1-2 If Christ had not risen, the Romans would gladly have produced Hisbody as evidence. But they could not-the tomb was emnpty. But the dsciples could have stolen the body of Jesus. Look at Matthew 27:62-66.
