AMT 423 Page 1 Outline ► CAR Part 5.7 Maintenance Records and entries ► CAR Part 6.5.1.7 Maintenance Records for Return to Service (RTS) aircraft. ► Proper logging of discrepancies and remedies report on aircraft logbooks; ► Inspection Logging 50 Hours inspection and 100 Hours inspection. ► Familiarization and tilling of CAAP Forms with regards to registration and airworthiness of aircraft. Major repair means a repair: (1) that if improperly done might appreciably affect weight, balance, structural strength, performance, power- plant, operations, flight characteristics, or other qualities affecting airworthiness; or (2) that is not done according to accepted practices or cannot be done by elementary operations. Described in IS: 5.1.1.2 (a)(3). ► Major modification. Preventive maintenance is limited to the following work, provided it does not involve complex assembly operations. ► Removal, installation and repair of landing gear tires. ► Replacing elastic shock absorber cords on landing gear. ► Servicing landing gear shock struts by adding Course oil, air, or both. Code Page # IS: 5.1.1.2 (A) (5) PREVENTIVE MAINTENANCE (DEFINITION) ► Lubrication not requiring disassembly other than removal of non-structural items such as cover plates, cowlings, and fairings. ► Making simple fabric patches not requiring rib stitching or the removal of structural parts or control surfaces. ► Replenishing hydraulic fluid in the hydraulic reservoir. ► Refinishing decorative coating of fuselage, wings, tail group surfaces (excluding balanced control surfaces), fairings, cowling, landing gear, cabin, or Course cockpit interior when removal or disassembly of Code Page # IS: 5.1.1.2 (A) (5) PREVENTIVE MAINTENANCE (DEFINITION) ► Replacing safety belts. ► Replacing seats or seat parts with replacement parts approved for the aircraft, ► not involving disassembly of any primary structure or operating system. ► Troubleshooting and repairing broken circuits in landing light wiring circuits. ► Replacing bulbs, reflectors, and lenses of position and landing lights. ► Replacing wheels and skis where no weight and balance computation is involved. This form has multiple purposes: A) The form may constitute a statement from the FAA that a new product or article produced under Title 14 of the Code of Federal Regulations (14 CFR) part 21, Certification Procedures for Products and Parts, conforms to its design and is in a condition for safe operation. B) The form may be used to return to service a used product or article following inspection, maintenance, or alteration. Course Code Page # AUTHORIZE RELEASE CERTIFICATE 1. What is the purpose of FAA Form 8130-3? This form has multiple purposes: C) The form may be used when exporting products or articles to meet the requirements of bilateral agreements between the United States and other countries.
