3 THEIMPORTANCE OF GOD'SWORD Now that you know you're saved-that you have become a new creature (2 Cor. 5:17)--you may ask, "What do I do now? There's got to be more to it than this!" Youre right-there is more, lots Imore. But you're not alone. Aloving parent would not leave a newborn infant to take care of himself, and neither does God leave a newborn Christian to grow for himself. But how do you grow as a Christian? The Word of God is the means by which we grow and become stronger Christians (1 Pet. 2:2). It makes sense that the more we read about someone, the more we will know about that person. God is the author of the Bible. As we read His Word, we will learn moreabout Him and about how we should live for His glory. WHAT GOD SAYS ABOUT HIS WNORD According to Psalm 138:2, how has God shown the importance of what He says? According to Matthew 5:17-18, why did Christ come to Earth? In the same passage, how much of God's Word did Christ say was true-that is, how much will be fulfilled or accomplished? Note also John 10:35. In John 5:39, what did Christ say was one purpose of the Old Testament Scriptures? In Matthew24:35, what did Christ say would not happen to Hiswords? According to 2 Timothy 3:1l6, what is true about all Scripture? 20 Accordingto James 1:21, how does God use His Word if we receive it? Answer the following questions from 1 Peter 1:23.
