# Chicken Parts This document describes different parts of a chicken. ## Whole Chicken Wing The whole chicken wing is a white meat portion composed of three sections: drumette, mid-section, and tip. ## Wing Drummettes The first section of the wing, located between the shoulder and the elbow. ## Wing Mid-Section with Tip The flat center section of the wing and the flipper (wing tip). ## Wing Mid-Section The section of the wing between the elbow and the tip, sometimes called the wing flat or mid-joint. ## Whole Chicken Leg/Whole Chicken Leg The whole chicken leg is a drumstick-thigh combination. The whole leg is different from the leg quarter and does not include a portion of the back.
