Students need to write a one-page summary (Times New Roman, single-spaced, 12-point font) on the main points of the article and analyze how the media influences the topic, as well as the potential role the media could play in addressing or expanding on the issue. Topics can include the media’s impact on gender disparity, women’s participation, inclusivity, economic factors, globalization, or the media’s portrayal of racism in sports and its influence on societal views and sports culture. Article Review (Individual) Each student will be assigned an article or can choose one themselves from Google Scholar related to the role of media in sports. They will then write a review of that article. Instructions and details will be provided later in the class. Case Study (Individual Presentation) Task: Each student will choose a major sport/esports event (e.g., The International for Dota 2) and prepare a short, individual presentation (10-15 minutes) that includes: Introduction: Brief overview of the selected esports event. Media Coverage Analysis: Examine how the media covered the event, highlighting the portrayal of female participants and any gender-related aspects.
