Content/Description #### Ginaw Bilog Poet, Hanunuo Mangyan (Panaytayan, Oriental Mindoro) 1993 * Ginaw Bilog helped preserved the Mangyan literary tradition by documenting the pieces of *ambahan* recorded not only on bamboo tubes but also on notebooks passed on to him. * It is etched on the bamboo tubes using ancient Southeast Asian, Pre Colonial script called Surat Mangyan. * The *ambahan* is a poetic literary form composed of seven-syllables. It is usually sung. * He Shares old and new *ambahans* with his fellow Mangyans and promotes this poetic form in every occasion. #### MASINO INTARAY Musician and Storyteller (Brookes Point, Palawan) 1993 * Outstanding master of the *basal*, *kulilal* and *bagit*. * A gifted poet, bard artist, and musician. * He also plays the *aroding* (mouth harp) and *babarak* (ring flute) and above all is a prolific and pre-eminent epic chanter and story teller. * He has the creative memory, endurance clarity of intellect and spiritual purpose that enable him to chant all through the night, for successive nights, countless *tultul* (epics), *sudungit* (narratives), and *tuturan* (myths of origin and teachings of ancestors). **(Images):** * **Ginaw Bilog:** A man, likely the poet Ginaw Bilog, holds a piece of bamboo tube with what appears to be writing on it.  * **MASINO INTARAY:** A picture of Masino Intaray, likely a musician and storyteller. * **ARODING:** Image of an *aroding* musical instrument.
