Routine and monotony can creep into our lives. We chose products that we are familiar with and have done so for many years. We are tired of repetition and want to seek for unhealthy munchies. There\'s nothing more wrong! You must continually look for new ways to make our dishes more nutritious, healthier, and, most importantly, tastier! France became cheese\'s homeland. King Charles the Great enjoyed roquefort and brie. In the seventeenth century, France and the Netherlands almost went to war after the Dutch obtained the recipe for French Edam cheese and began to counterfeit it. Pre-war France had 480 different types of cheese. Winston Churchill, the English prime minister during World War II, once said, \"You cannot rule a country that offers so many types of cheese.\" Today, despite being far from the cheese powerhouse that is still France, our selection is vast. In large cities, you can find practically any world-famous delicacy. There are numerous cheese classifications based on the criteria. We have three types of cheese: fresh (white - cow, sheep, and goat), boiled (processed), and fermented (the largest category). Why are cheeses served at breakfast? ==================================== Our efforts promote cheese as a delightful and nutritious breakfast and daily dietary staple. It is especially vital to understand what should be eaten to maintain a healthy, pleasant, and effective diet for the body\'s development. Calcium is one of the most essential nutrients for humans. Its regular intake in the diet is necessary for strong bones, proper growth, and overall body balance. Its limitation is the risk of chronic weariness, spinal abnormalities, and osteoporosis. Cheeses are a good source of many nutrients that are present in other dairy products but in much lower concentrations. Cheese has a high-quality protein with a typical amino acid composition, calcium more than eight times that of milk, phosphorus, magnesium, iron, potassium, zinc, vitamins A, E, and D, beta-carotene, and B vitamins, particularly vitamin B2. Cheese is a good source of tyrosine, an amino acid that increases resistance to fatigue and stress and positively affects our well-being. A shortage of tyrosine can reduce dopamine levels, which stimulate mood and can lead to depression. Cheese is also a source of conjugated dienes of linoleic acid (CLA), which have many pro-health activities, including anti-cancer, anti-diabetic, anti-inflammatory, and anti-atherosclerotic properties. Consuming products with the right CLA content reduces body fat content. Cheese is a filling product, allowing for longer enjoyment of flavours and aromas. Types of cheeses commonly served at breakfast ============================================= Brie ---- Brie cheese is a soft, creamy cheese originating from France, characterised by its pale, edible rind and rich, buttery interior. Made from cow\'s milk, brie undergoes a specific ageing process, resulting in its distinct flavour and texture. It has a mild, nutty taste with earthy undertones and a creamy consistency that melts in the mouth. Brie is commonly served at breakfast buffets due to its versatility and universal appeal. Its mild flavour pairs well with various breakfast items such as bread, pastries, fruits, and meats, making it a popular choice for adding a touch of elegance and sophistication to morning spreads. It might be replaced with camembert in some situations. The goal is to have one soft cheese. Cheddar ------- Cheddar cheese is a firm, aged cheese originating from England, known for its sharp, tangy flavour and smooth texture. Made from cow\'s milk, cheddar undergoes pressing, ageing, and maturing, contributing to its distinct taste and colour. It comes in various forms, ranging from mild to extra sharp, and can be white or orange. Cheddar cheese is often served at breakfast buffets due to its versatility and widespread popularity. Its robust flavour complements a wide range of breakfast dishes, such as omelettes, breakfast sandwiches, potatoes, and pastries, adding depth and richness to morning spreads. Classic cheese -- mild or sharp, depending on the geography -- is the most commonly used cheese for breakfast preparations. Emmental -------- Emmental cheese, originating from Switzerland, is a firm, pale yellow cheese known for its distinctive nutty flavour and characteristic holes. Made from cow\'s milk, Emmental undergoes a lengthy ageing process, resulting in its smooth texture and sweet, slightly tangy taste. It is often recognised for its iconic appearance with evenly distributed holes throughout the cheese. Emmental is served at breakfast buffets for its versatility and mild flavour profile. It\'s creamy texture and subtle nuttiness complement various breakfast items such as bread, pastries, omelettes, and breakfast sandwiches, adding a touch of sophistication and flavour to morning spreads. Provolone --------- Provolone cheese is a semi-hard Italian cheese known for its smooth texture and tangy flavour. Made from cow\'s milk, it undergoes a process of ageing, which contributes to its distinct taste and firmness. Provolone cheese can be found in two varieties: Dolce (mild and creamy) and Piccante (sharp and robust). It is commonly served at breakfast buffets for its versatility and ability to enhance various breakfast dishes. Whether melted on breakfast sandwiches, paired with fruits and nuts, or served alongside pastries, Provolone adds depth and richness to morning spreads, making it a popular choice for breakfast offerings. Cream cheese ------------ Cream cheese is a soft, spreadable cheese made from milk and cream. It is known for its smooth texture and mild, slightly tangy flavour. Cream cheese is a versatile ingredient commonly used in breakfast buffets due to its creamy consistency and ability to complement a variety of dishes. It is often spread on bagels, toast, or muffins and can be flavoured with herbs, fruits, or spices for added variety. Cream cheese also serves as a base for dips, spreads, and frostings, adding richness and depth to breakfast offerings. Its creamy texture and mild taste make it a popular choice for enhancing the flavour of breakfast items.
