21st Century Literature from the Philippines and the World If you were to write about something that pertains to the current condition of the Philippines, what would be your topic or subject about? Dimensions of Philippine Literary History 1. Geographic – The geographical setting and environment (where the literature is created) are depicted in the literary pieces. 2. Linguistic – Literary pieces are creatively and compellingly expressed in varied languages. 3. Ethnic – Literary pieces speak of distinct cultures. Dimensions of Philippine Literary History In our discussion of Philippine literary history periods, be mindful of the geographic, linguistic, and ethnic (cultural) aspects of literary characteristics, events, movements, and evolution.
