# Business Units Configuration in Genesys Cloud Workforce Management ## Permissions Required to Add a Business Unit #Permissions To add a Business Unit, ensure the `Workforce Management > Business Unit > Add` permission is assigned. ## Business Unit Configuration Tabs #ConfigurationTabs Business Unit configuration in Genesys Cloud includes three main tabs: 1. **General Tab** - Configure the Business Unit’s **start day of the week**, **time zone**, and **division**. 2. **Forecasting Tab** - Define the number of historical weeks used for source data based on the **forecasted week**. - **Example**: If today’s date is March 1 and the forecast is for the week of March 30, the system uses data from the six weeks prior to March 1. If forecasting for the week of January 1, data from the six weeks before January 1 is used. 3. **Scheduling Tab** - Configure **reporting severity** for schedule generation validation messages. Each validation message has a default severity level, which can be customized. ## Important Considerations for Business Units #ImportantConsiderations - **Start Day and Time Zone**: Once set, the **start day** and **time zone** cannot be changed. To adjust these, create a new Business Unit and replicate the necessary configurations. - **Deleting a Business Unit**: Before deleting a Business Unit, remove any associated **management units**. Deletion is not possible if management units are still linked to the Business Unit. --- > **Note**: Configure each tab based on the specific needs and requirements of the Business Unit to ensure optimal setup for Workforce Management operations. #Genesys #wfm
