AIR LAW Part 3 Aircraft Requirements REGISTRATION • No person may operate a civil aircraft unless it has been registered BY ITS OWNER/Operator and CAAP has issued Certificate of Registration (COR) which shall be carried aboard that aircraft for all operations DISPLAY OF MARKING • No person may operate a civil aircraft registered in the Republic of the Philippines unless it displays nationality and registration marks in accordance with the requirements of this section. MARKINGS TO BE USED • Philippine Registration ❖ RP – 1234 Government ❖ RP - C1234 Civil ❖ RP - R1234 Restricted ❖ RP - X1234 Non type certificated ❖ RP - S1234 Sports IDENTIFICATION PLATE • The operator shall affix to each aircraft registered under the laws of the Republic of the Philippines an IDENTIFICATION PLATE CERTIFICATE OF AIRWORTHINESS (C OF A) • Certificate given to an aircraft or component after applying to the regulatory agency of the state of design or state of registry. WEIGHING OF AIRCRAFT • Aircraft shall be re-weighed every five (5) years when used for general aviation. REQUIRED INSTRUMENTS • Minimum Flight and Navigational Equipment 1. Airspeed Indicator; 2. Altimeter 3. Vertical Speed Indicator; 4. Turn and Slip Indicator or a Turn Coordinator 5. Magnetic Compass; 6. Outside Air Temperature Indicator 7. Timepiece indicating the time in hours, minutes and seconds. • (b) Whenever an aircraft is operating at night or when two pilots are required, each pilot's station shall have separate flight instruments as listed above and additionally as follows; • Attitude Indicator; and • Heading Indicator • Engine Instrument Requirements: 1. Fuel Gauges for each fuel tank. 2. Oil pressure indicator for each engine. 3. Oil Temperature indicator for each engine. 4. Tachometer for each engine. 1 AIR LAW COMMUNICATION EQUIPEMENT Radio Equipment • No person may operate an aircraft unless it is equipped with radio equipment. • 121.5 – Aeronautical Emergency Frequency TRANSPONDER • No person may operate an aircraft in airspace that requires a pressure reporting transponder. EMERGENCY LOCATOR TRANSMITTER • ALL AIRCRAFT SHALL EQUIPPED. AIRCARFT LIGHTS Required for all aircraft operating at night: 1. Landing Light 2. Anti-collision light system (Strobe Lights) 3. Navigation/position Lights 4. Illumination of flight instruments and equipment necessary for the safe operation of aircraft 5. Lights in all passenger compartments 6. Flashlight for each crew member station (approval not required) *Beacon Light 2
