1st term Basic 7 ICT Topic: Technology of different information ages 1 Lesson Note: Technology can be defined as the technical means or method that people use to improve their lives and environment. It can also be defined as a method of using tools and machines to carry out tasks efficiently. Information age is the period after the industrial age. It began around 1970. As human being develops, the technology he uses develops. The following are the technologies of different information ages. 1. The Stone Age: the Stone Age began about two million years ago. It was the period when all tools and weapons were made of stones. During this period, man\'s occupations were hunting of animals, farming and gathering of fruits. The Stone Age was experienced in Europe, Asia and Africa. 2. The Bronze Age: this age was between 1800BC - 2000BC. It was the period when most tools and weapons used were made of bronze. The technology of this period was primitive, while moulding of bronze became popular. 3. The Iron Age: this was the period when iron was used for making tools and weapons. Small machines, such as the miller, were invented.
