Anatomy Structures: Identification Practice KINS 1110 KINS 1110 Introduction These study sheets do not include all the structures you need to know but will help you get those repetitions in for practice landmarking and familiarization of terms. I would appreciate you not posting these in online study sites (Chegg, Quora, etc.) for copyright purposes as these images are provided to instructors for instructional purposes only. Also note that I often leave out the bone in the bony feature name for study purposes – to make it a bit more challenging. However, it is good practice to include the bone name when describing a bony landmark/feature (if it isn’t already in the term) as you need to know which features are on which bones and because many terms (like “head” or “condyle” etc.) are found on multiple bones. For example: Styloid process – include the bone name. So, styloid process of the temporal bone. Iliac crest – does not require the bone name because it is already in the term as an adjective (“iliac”). KINS 1110 2 How these slides work For each image, there are four consecutive slides: 1. Image only (unnumbered/unlabeled; no terms provided) Useful for independent study without prompts; also, so you can see images clearly without arrows/arrow tips. Hardest – tests recall. 2. Image numbered and marked with arrows; no terms provided Direct lab exam practice. Harder – tests recall (with prompts from arrows). Harder – tests recall. 3. Image numbered and marked; all terms provided in a randomized order Useful for initial studying when terms not yet memorized; ‘matching’ practice. Note some terms may be used twice. Challenging but still testing recognition. 4. Image numbered and marked; all terms provided Provides the correct answers to check comprehension. Also useful for initial familiarization of terms and landmarks. Easiest. If you require a difficulty level between #2 and #3, perhaps put take the #2 slide and put the first letter of each term down as a prompt. Pick the image/difficulty level wherein you feel challenged but not overwhelmed and work up to more challenging “recall” images. And take breaks! Let the knowledge meld, then hit it again when you’re refreshed.
