Order Fulfillment Process
- Orders are assigned to users and pick instructions are printed from the released sales order list in NAV.
- Products are pulled from the warehouse based on the bin code on the pick instruction.
Verifying Products
- Verify the item number, lot number, unit of measure, and quantity to ship against the pick instruction.
- Check for any damage or leakage in the pulled products and notify the logistics manager if necessary.
Shipping Conditions
- Products are shipped under three conditions: ambient, refrigerated (2-8C), or frozen (-20 to -80C).
- Note that ice packs are only used with microbiological plates.
Packing Procedures
- Choose an appropriate box size for the item and packing materials.
- Pack the item securely with packing material to minimize movement during shipping.
- Securely tape the box on the bottom.
- Add a "Store Upon Arrival" label for refrigerated or frozen items.
Refrigerated Shipments
- Add 1 ice pack for every 10 units for international shipments or microbiological plates.
- Use 2 ice packs for greater than 10 units.
- Ship refrigerated items via FedEx priority overnight "PRION" or FedEx first overnight "1STOVERN".
Dry Ice Shipments
- Use a corrugated outer box with Styrofoam cooler or foam inserts.
- Place frozen items upright in the box.
- Add dry ice to fill the box and cover the item.
- Record the weight of the dry ice on the UN1845 label.
- Ship dry ice items via FedEx priority overnight "PRION" or FedEx first overnight "1STOVERN" or UPS NEXT DAY AIR "NXT DAY".
