Policy Details

Procedures for Apparatus Maintenance
- Maintenance requests must be recorded in AssetWorks during Fleet Maintenance's normal hours (0700 to 1800, Monday to Friday).
- After-hours vehicle maintenance requests are directed through Communication Center to reach an On Call Technician.
- Vehicles with mechanical failures as per NFPA 1911 must be put out of service and reported immediately to Battalion Chiefs.
- In case of on-route failures, vehicles should be safely stopped and shut off to prevent damage.
Examination and Repair Process
- Shop Foreman or Road Technician evaluates out-of-service vehicles for immediate repair or replacement.
