- The main purpose of the United States Constitution is to establish a new government for the United States and designate its powers and limits.
- The main purpose of the Nevada Constitution is to establish the basic structure of the state's government.
- "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of people to peaceably assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances" refers to the First Amendment
- “Rights to bear arms: A well-regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed" refers to the Second Amendment.
