Probation Aides

  • Assist Provincial or City Probation Officers in supervising probationers
  • Responsible for supervision of probationers under the guidance of Probation Officers

Qualifications

  • Must be a citizen of good repute and probity
  • Minimum educational requirement: high school graduate
  • Preferably a resident of the same locality or community as the probationer and/or CPPOs, SPPOs, and SrPPOs

Appointment

  • Probation Aides are appointed by the Probation Administrator or by Regional Directors within their respective areas of responsibility
  • Appointment is based on the recommendation of CPPOs

Caseloads

  • Minimum case classification: 10 probationers
  • Maximum case classification: 3 probationers

Disqualification for Parole

  • Inmates convicted of offences punished with death penalty or life imprisonment are not eligible for parole
  • Treason, conspiracy or proposal to commit treason, espionage, misprision of treason, rebellion, sedition, or coup d'etat convicts are disqualified from parole
  • Piracy or mutiny on the high seas or Philippine Waters convicts are not eligible for parole
  • Habitual delinquents, i.e., those convicted of serious or less serious physical injuries, robbery, theft, estafa, or falsification, three times or more within 10 years, are disqualified from parole
  • Inmates who escaped from confinement or evaded sentence are not eligible for parole
  • Those who violated the terms of their conditional pardon granted by the President of the Philippines are disqualified from parole
  • Inmates with a maximum term of imprisonment not exceeding one (1) year or those with a definite sentence are not eligible for parole
  • Convicts of offenses punished with Reclusion Perpetua or whose sentences were reduced to reclusion Perpetua by Republic Act No. 9346 are disqualified from parole
  • Inmates convicted of terrorism, plunder, and transnational crimes are not eligible for parole
