- Smoking is prohibited in all public places on campus.
- Smoking and drinking of alcoholic beverages are not allowed in students' rooms.
- The use of narcotic drugs in the University is prohibited.
- Occultism of any kind is prohibited.
University Anthem
- The University anthem has two verses.
- The first verse praises God for the University of Mines and Technology.
- The second verse praises God for the University's vision.
- The anthem's motto is "knowledge, truth, and excellence".
- The anthem was written by Prof. D.Mireku-Gyimah and composed by Sir M.K.Amissah.
Student Conduct
- The University will not permit any behavior on or off campus that contravenes its regulations or the laws of the land.
- Students are expected to use official channels of communication and follow laid-down grievance procedures.
- Formal petitions, negotiations, etc. should take place in designated offices or venues.
- Accredited representatives of recognized groups within the University will be met by the Central Administration for negotiations.
- Arrangements reached are binding on both sides.
Noise on Campus
- A quiet academic environment is desirable.
- Noise levels should be kept as low as possible.
- Radios, stereophonic instruments, and musical instruments can be used quietly with consideration for others.
- Clubs, Societies, and Religious groups meetings should not be held in students' rooms.
- "Ponding" in any form is banned in the University.
Student Excursions
- Decisions to undertake excursions should be taken at a general meeting of the Club/Society.
- Permission for a society to go on excursion or education tour should be sought from the Dean of Students and/or Heads of Departments.
- All students making the trip should seek permission from their various Heads of Departments.

General Regulations
- The laws of Ghana apply equally to every member of the University community.
- Existing regulations in the University are consistent with the laws of the land.
- Physical assault of any kind on any individual or group is strictly prohibited.
- Willful destruction of University or private property or facility is prohibited.
- Breaches of any of these regulations are punishable.
