Union Budget 2024-25: Export and Import Provisions
- Export of goods imported for repairs: Extended from 6 months to 1 year.
- Re-import of goods for repairs under warranty: Extended from 3 to 5 years.
- 100% Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) permitted via automatic route for aircraft Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO).
- New MRO guidelines (September 1, 2021): Abolished royalties, increased transparency and certainty in land allotments for MROs in Airports Authority of India (AAI) airports.
- GST on MRO reduced from 18% to 5% with full Input Tax Credit (from April 1, 2020).
New National Apps Launched for Criminal Justice System
- Four new national apps launched: "e-Sakshya", "Nyaya Setu", "Nyaya Shruti", and "e-Summon".
- "e-Sakshya": Allows recording of crime scenes (video and photos), secure data transfer to evidence lockers, and electronic submission to courts.
- "Nyaya Shruti": Facilitates electronic court hearings, connecting forensics, police, jails, prosecution, and authorized access points.
- "e-Summon": Enables electronic transmission of legal orders (summons and warrants) from courts to police.
- "Nyaya Setu": Integrates Police, Prosecution, Prisons, Medical, and Forensics departments on a single dashboard.
National Handloom Day and Related Initiatives
- VIRAASAT exhibition (celebrating 10th National Handloom Day): Held at Handloom Haat, Janpath (August 3-16, 2024). Organized by National Handloom Development Corporation Ltd (NHDC).

- Three underwater structures in the Indian Ocean named: "Ashoka Seamount", "Chandragupt Ridge", and "Kalpataru Ridge".
- Names proposed by India, approved by International Hydrographic Organization (IHO) and UNESCO's Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission (IOC).
- Discovered by oceanographers from the National Centre for Polar and Ocean Research (NCPOR), Goa. Located along the Southwest Indian Ridge. This brings the total number of structures named after Indian scientists or proposed by India to seven.
Krishi-Decision Support System (Krishi-DSS)
- Digital geospatial platform launched by the Indian government.
- Jointly developed by the Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers' Welfare and the Department of Space.
- Provides access to all-India data: satellite imagery, weather information, water resources, soil health.
