Air and Atmosphere
- Air is invisible, but its presence can be felt when it moves, which is known as wind.
- Air is essential for life on Earth, and all living things require it to breathe.
Layers of the Atmosphere
- The atmosphere is a thick layer of air surrounding the Earth, which moves with the Earth's rotation.
- The atmosphere can be divided into several layers, including:
- Exosphere: 2,700 to 190,000 km, the upper limit of the atmosphere with the least amount of air.
- Exobase: 700 to 1,000 km.
- Thermosphere: 80 to 700 km, where auroras are observed and satellites orbit the Earth.
- Karman line: 100 km, a boundary within the thermosphere.
- Mesosphere: 50 to 80 km, where meteoroids burn and do not reach the Earth.
- Stratosphere: 12 to 50 km, containing the ozone layer (20 to 30 km) that absorbs harmful ultraviolet rays from the sun.
- Troposphere: 0 to 12 km, the densest part of the atmosphere, where all weather changes occur and human life exists.
