    • Noncount nouns have only one form.
    • Common nouns refer to general or abstract people, places, ideas, or things.
    • Proper nouns refer to specific people, places, ideas, or things.
  • Pronouns: take the place of nouns and can be the subject, object, or possessive of a sentence. (e.g., He, She, They, Them)

    • Personal pronouns refer to people and their forms change with the use in a sentence (subjective, objective, possessive).
    • Indefinite pronouns refer to abstract persons or things (e.g., everyone, someone, anybody).
  • Verbs: express action, link ideas, or help other verbs.

    • Action verbs show what the subject is doing.

Subjects and Verbs
