Client Types
- Client - Person or organization that hires an architect to provide professional services
- Owner - Person or entity identified in the agreement, usually the client but may be an authorized agent or representative
- Client - Purchases professional services, unlike a customer who purchases goods or products
Client and Architect Relationship
- The client usually selects the design and construction teams
- The client pays for the design, construction, and operation of the project
- The client may be the owner, user, or occupant of the building, or a combination of all three
- The client can be a design-builder
Other Project Stakeholders

- Local residents, neighbors, and ratepayers associations

Client Categories
- Public Sector - Responsible for buildings used for the general public and employees, financed through taxation, government revenues, or fundraising.
