- Anorexia is an eating disorder defined as the lack of appetite, stemming from the Greek words "a-/an" (negation) + "órexis" (appetite, hungry, desire).
Types of Anorexia
- Nervous Anorexia: self-induced weight loss accompanied by a distorted body image.
- Trigger: anomalous concern for body shape and weight, as well as excessive control of food intake.
- Sexual Anorexia (anaphrodisia): inhibited sexual desire characterized by a low level of sexual interest.
- Trigger: self-concept of little or no sexual appeal, denial of success, pleasure, and love, fear of rejection, and difficulty expressing sexual desire

- Common age ranges: 14-18 and 20-40
