• The policeman moves Schmid to the passenger seat and drives the car to Bern
• Fog thickens along the way, and the car joins a slow-moving line of traffic
• Investigation is initiated in Biel, then handed to Kommissar Bärlach
• Bärlach previously worked as a Kriminalist in Frankfurt, and Constantinople
• Bärlach returned to Bern after slapping a high-ranking German official
• Bärlach orders the Schmid case to be kept secret from the press
• Dr Lucius Lutz, Bärlach's superior, is appalled by Swiss crime-fighting methods

Bärlach's Investigation Begins

The Dog Attack

• Bärlach finds an old, unlit, house past the gate
• Bärlach and Tzchanzs separate and look in different sides of the house
• The back wall of the house is lit
• Bärlach is attacked by a dog, who he shoots
• He is worried about Tschanz's condition
• Bärlach asks if a gun is ever carried but there is no answer

Confronting Gastmann

• Bach music is heard at the establishment
• After the attack the music stops and the lights are dimmed
• Someone from the house asks what the commotion is
• Bärlach is respectful with the statement "Sie unbedingt herrn gastmann sprechen müssten"
• Later, other guests insist that Bärlach find the dogs
• Nationalrat von Schwendi identifies himself
• Bärlach dismisses he "Jurafrage"
• Schwendi thinks Bärlach killed the dog since they are communists
• Bärlach says the recording of the events will not be recorded
• Schwendi was at the turkish embassy and the meeting with the Oberst vereinigung in Haus zum Schweizer Degen
• Bärlach tells Schwendi that Schmid died on his ride home that Gastmann is involved
• Schwendi accuses Bärlach of also being an ass

Leaving Gastmann's Property

• Bärlach does not what he can do with the current situation
• Then after reflecting says "es ist urkomisch"
• They are going to visit the police force since they are all in the same boat

The Police Force

• They find people eating and the colleagues in the town are confused
• They are not aware of anything happening
• He always invites quests into his properties
• Schmid was not there and no one has ever known a officer with the same name has ever been there
• The people are being weird and they don't really do anything about anything
• The town was created in the mind of Channel

Meeting Up After at the Restaurant

• They had to the location to visit the restaurant in Schlucht
• There was already a policeman there already
• The waitress told everyone that Bärlach waited for a short amount of

Back in the Car after a Long Day

• On the way to the car, Tzchanz shares an experience
• Bärlach makes out that a person who was going to stop him was a person that
• They were there previously
• It seems like this was also the same experience that Ulrich Schmidt experienced
• Tschanz states it was just Bärlach's imagination
• Then Bärlach acknowledges Tschanzs but did not explain who he was and what they were talking about
• Tzchanz confirms to Bärlach that this person did not want to have issues over that night
• And the next thing, Bärlach would probably no understand the experience that he experienced
• Now to the current location, it seems like after they visit that location the trip to Grindelwald

Bärlach Talks

On the Drive Home

• On the way to the car, he had felt that something would get better
• He does not really like gastman and never even believed he is responsible

Discussions with Friends

• Bärlach was speaking with people after those event
