- JPEG supports 16.7 million colors, has the best quality image to integrate with documents, has small file size, does not support transparency, and may not work well for lettering, line drawings, or simple graphic.
- GIF can display transparencies and simple animation but only supports 256 colors.
- PNG is good for transporting images online, supports transparencies and 16 million colors, does not support animation.
- Clip Art is generally a GIF type, often line art drawings or images used to represent ideas or objects.
- Shapes are printable objects or materials that can be integrated into documents, allowing for composing and representing ideas or messages.

Image Placements
- In line with text treats the image like a text font with the bottom aligned with the text line.
- Square places the image anywhere in the paragraph with the text going around it in a square shape.
- Tight places the text hugging the shape of the image. This can be achieved if using an image with transparency.
- Through allows the text to flow even tighter conforming to the image's shape.
- Top and Bottom pushes the text away from the image vertically so that the image occupies a whole text line.
- Behind Text places the image anywhere in the document while the text floats in front of it.
- In Front of Text places an image on top of the text.
Tables
- Used to organize information in rows and columns.
- Often the most efficient way to present large amounts of data.
Headers, Footers, Footnotes, Endnotes

Page Break
- Forcing a computer application to end the page.
- Often inserted after a title to ensure no text or images are added on the same page.
