Types of Data

There are two main types of data: qualitative and quantitative.

Qualitative Data

Consists of audio, images, symbols, or text.
Helps market researchers understand people's opinions, attitudes, and behaviors.
Example: customer feedback in the form of text.

Quantitative Data

Can be measured or counted in the form of numbers.
Example: the total value of all items in the inventory, which can be calculated by the shop owner.

Data Structure

Structured data is usually stored in a computer in a tabular format, such as a spreadsheet.
Example: a list of items with their prices and quantities.
Unstructured data is not organized in a predefined format, such as an image.
An image primarily consists of pixels, which are unstructured data.
