BC Human Rights Code Definitions
- Age: 19 years or older
- Chair: Member appointed under section 31, as head of the tribunal
- Collective Agreement: Defined in the Labour Relations Code

- Employers' Organization: Organization of employers regulating employer-employee relations

BC Human Rights Code Purposes
- (a): Foster full participation in BC's economic, social, political, and cultural life
- (b): Promote understanding and mutual respect among equals
- (c): Prevent discrimination prohibited by the Code
- (d): Identify and eliminate persistent inequality associated with prohibited discrimination
- (e): Provide redress for those discriminated against, contrary to the Code
BC Human Rights Code General Provisions
- Code Prevails: If conflict between this Code and another enactment, this Code takes precedence
- Discriminatory Publication: Prohibits publishing, issuing, or displaying statements, publications, notices, etc., that indicate discrimination or hatred based on protected grounds(Indigenous identity, race, colour, ancestry, place of origin, religion, marital status, family status, physical or mental disability, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or age).
- Discrimination in Accommodation, Service and Facility: Prohibits denying accommodation, service, or facilities customarily available to the public due to protected characteristics.

- Discrimination in Purchase of Property: Prohibits denial of the opportunity to purchase commercial or residential units, land, or interests in land due to protected characteristics.
