    Initial/Induction Courses

    • For new entrants, including Track Maintainers and Apprentice JE/SSE/P.Way
    • Syllabi and training program should be drawn up by the Railway Administration and circulated to all zonal/divisional training institutes
    • Includes introduction to the working of the Department, gang work, and Permanent Way organization and distribution of staff

    Induction Course for Track Maintainers

    • Held at the Divisional Training Centre under the direction of a JE/SSE/P.Way
    • Covers introduction to the working of the Department and gang work

    Initial/Induction Course for Apprentice JE/SSE/P.Way

    • Held at the Zonal Railway Training Institute
    • Covers class room lectures, field demonstrations, and practical training
    • Topics include: • General working of the Railways and Organization • Permanent Way – Organization, methods, and systems • Transportation – General Rules, signals, and train working • Office work – Accountal of stores and materials, Imprest, Tools, and Plants
