Trained Nurses' Association of India (TNAI)
- Established in 1908, initially known as Association of Nursing Superintendents
- Recognized by the Government of India as a service organization in 1950
- Foundation stone for TNAI Headquarters laid by Dr. S Radhakrishnan and inaugurated by Smt. Indira Gandhi
Objectives
- Uphold dignity and honor of the nursing profession
- Promote sense of esprit de corps among nurses
- Advance professional, educational, economic, and general welfare of nurses
Functions
- Enunciate standards of nursing education and practice
- Establish standards and qualifications for nursing practice
- Stimulate and promote research for evidence-based practice
- Promote legislation and protect economic welfare of nurses
- Provide professional counseling and placement services
- Represent nurses in national and international organizations
Membership
- Life members are registered nurses and midwives trained from institutions recognized by Indian Nursing Council/State Nursing Council
- Hold a certificate of training issued by a Nursing Registration Council or Board of Examinations recognized by the Indian Nursing Council

- National SNA General Committee comprises of TNAI National President, Honorary Treasurer, Secretary-General, Dy. Secretary General-cum-SNA Advisor, and state SNA Advisors
