    Code of Conduct

    Falsifying Documents

    • Members are prohibited from making false declarations or inscriptions, suppressing or altering official documents, or leaving required parts blank with intent to defraud, mislead, or misrepresent.

    Fireground Incident Technicians (FIT's)

    • FIT's relay orders to other officers or incoming apparatus when instructed by a Chief Officer.
    • Orders received from FIT's with the Chief's name or radio alias must be carried out as if coming directly from the Chief Officer.
    • FIT's cannot give orders except on the authority of the Chief Officer.

    Change of Address

    • Members must report changes in address or telephone number in writing to their Officer, with a copy sent to the Staff Services Division and their Platoon Chief/Division Chief.

    Conduct

    • Members must conduct themselves in a manner that maintains the good reputation of the Toronto Fire Services and its members.
    • Members cannot publicly express malicious opinions or make public comments in bad faith that tarnish the reputation of the Toronto Fire Services, its policies, or members.
    • Public comment on policy and procedure is restricted to Senior Officers or designated spokespersons.

    Release of Information at or Pertaining to Emergency Incidents
