Grade 0
- Tonsils are fully retracted and positioned within the pillars.
Grade 1
- Tonsils appear enlarged and extend beyond the pillars.
Grade 2
- Tonsillar enlargement reaches approximately half the distance towards the uvula.
Grade 3
- Tonsillar enlargement meets the level of the uvula.
Grade 4
- Tonsils are severely enlarged, nearly touching each other; referred to as "kissing tonsils."
Tonsil Obstruction Grades
- Classification based on the degree of obstruction caused by the tonsils.
1+ Tonsil Obstruction
- Obstruction ranging from 0% to 25% towards the midline.
2+ Tonsil Obstruction
- Obstruction ranging from 25% to 50% towards the midline.
