- The balance scale is balanced, so the sugar weighs 3 kg
To measure 3 kg of sugar using 1 kg and 5 kg weights
- Place the 1 kg weight on one side and the 5 kg weight on the other side
- Add sugar to the 1 kg side until the balance scale is balanced
If a can holds 5 liters, how much water is left in a 16-liter tank after filling the can?
- 16 - 5 = 11 liters
A bag of sugar weighs 14 kg, and a bag of rice weighs x kg
- The total weight of both bags is 36 kg
- x = 36 - 14 = 22 kg
Nga weighs 8 kg, and Long weighs twice as much as Nga
- Long weighs 2 x 8 = 16 kg
A tank holds 20 liters of water
- If 4 times the remaining water is poured into another tank, how much water was poured?
- Let x be the amount of water poured
- 20 - x = 4x
- x = 4 liters
A 5 kg weight is placed on one side of the balance scale, and a 1 kg weight and a 1 kg package of sugar are placed on the other side
- Sugar is added to the 1 kg package until the balance scale is balanced
- The total weight of the sugar and the 1 kg package is 5 kg
