    • Tim Berners-Lee, a British computer scientist, invented the World Wide Web in 1991.
    • He made it accessible to the world for free.
    • His early interest began in 1955
    • He was interested in computers and worked as a programmer at the Ferranti, the first general purpose computer.
    • He later went to Oxford University to study physics, and built his own homemade computer there.
    • In 1980, while working at CERN, he developed ENQUIRE.
