The Second Hijrah and Isra and Miraaj
- Second Hijrah: Facing persecution in Mecca, ~80-100 Muslims migrated to Abyssinia (under King Negus) following the first successful migration.
Isra and Miraaj
- Description: A miraculous night journey of Prophet Muhammad (SAW) from Mecca to Jerusalem and then to the heavens.
- Purpose: Strengthened Prophet Muhammad's faith, offering comfort after hardships (loss of Khadijah and Abu Talib), revealing his special status as a prophet, and establishing the five daily prayers.
- Purification: Prophet Muhammad underwent a purification process similar to his childhood, where angels purified his heart.
- Journey Details: Travelled by Buraq, a white, heavenly animal (smaller than a mule, larger than a donkey, with wings), guided by Angel Jibreel. Buraq could travel immense distances rapidly. Able to place hooves at the furthest boundary of his gaze.
Al-Aqsa Mosque Visit
- Event: At Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem, led prayers with all previous prophets.
- Offerings: Offered milk and wine by Angel Jibreel. Chose milk as a sign of guidance for his followers.
