What is the Haq method of division?
What is the Haq method of division?
The Haq method of division is a method of division where the divisor is split into two parts, the left part is called the principal divisor and the right part is referred to as 'flag digit' or 'Dhuwajank.' The division is performed using only the principal divisor while both the divisor and flag digit are placed in the divisor section.
How is the division performed in the flag method?
How is the division performed in the flag method?
In the flag method, the dividend is split into two parts with the number of digits in the flag determining the number of digits in the quotient. The remaining digits of the dividend make up the quotient. During each step of the division, the principal divisor divides the true dividend and the remainder is recorded. This forms the gross dividend (G.D.). In each step, the product of quotient obtained in the previous step and the flag is subtracted from the gross dividend to obtain the net dividend (N-D.). The principal divisor is then used to divide the net dividend and find the next digit of the quotient and the remainder, following the same process as in previous steps.
Explain the process of carrying out flag in the terminal index section.
Explain the process of carrying out flag in the terminal index section.
In the terminal index section, we carry out flag (multiply quotient by flag) and obtain the same process for the gross dividend (G.D.) and subtract except as L divide but write the answer remainder. This forms our final.
