Pineywoods Region
- Located within a larger pine-hardwood forest area extending into Louisiana, Arkansas, and Oklahoma.
Oak Woods and Prairies Region
- Also known as the Cross-Timbers; features alternating belts of oak forest and prairie grassland as encountered by early settlers.
Blackland Prairies Region
- Renowned for its deep, fertile black soils which dominate the landscape.
Gulf Coast Prairies and Marshes Region
- Comprises barrier islands, salt grass marshes, remnant tallgrass prairies, oak parklands, and tall woodlands along the Gulf Coast.
Coastal Sand Plains Region
