This approach has proven effective in enhancing the management of uncomplicated CV risk factors, such as hypertension, by non-physician providers.

The CHPS program, which includes community health officers (CHOs), has been instrumental in implementing TASSH, an evidence-based strategy based on the WHO Cardiovascular Risk Package. TASSH has led to a significant reduction in systolic blood pressure, demonstrating the potential of task shifting in Ghana's context. In addition to TASSH, CHPS initiatives have employed a "guided diffusion" approach, allowing teams to establish functioning zones by following a step-by-step process, even before national revenue is available for district-level costs.
