Sumerian Civilization
- Sumerians believed in polytheism, many gods, not just one.
- Four main gods: sky, foothills/mountains, fresh water, wind
- Worshipping gods prevented bad things
- Priests served gods, prayed for needs (e.g. water)
- Sumer thrived and became wealthy, frequent attacks
- Strong warrior leader became king, leading them always

- Slaves were prisoners of war or sold, little pay, could earn freedom
- Women had equal rights, could be priestesses, own land, or merchants/artisans

- Wheel allowed for wagons/transport of crops, supplies
