Stages of Human Life
Foetus and Baby
- A baby growing inside the womb of its mother is known as a foetus from 9 weeks.
- A foetus spends roughly nine months developing inside the mother's womb.
- Babies are completely reliant on their parents for everything.
- Babies drink milk, which is a unique trait of mammals.
- Babies start to develop some control over their muscles, starting with their head and eventually being able to crawl.
Child
- The child stage begins with the "toddler" phase, when children start to walk, although they are clumsy at first.
- During this stage, children start to talk more, and communication becomes easier.
- They start eating solid food and become less reliant on their parents for basic needs.
- Children still rely on their parents to protect them from danger.
Adolescent
- During adolescence, children begin puberty, which is the time when their body begins to change and prepare for adulthood.
- Puberty begins at different times for every person and is marked by the production of various hormones and physical changes.
- Hormones can affect how adolescents react in certain situations, leading them to take bigger risks or seem grumpy.
- Adolescents begin to become more independent of their parents for many of their needs, but still rely on them for housing and essential needs.
Adult
- The age at which an adolescent becomes an adult varies across the world.
- Adulthood begins when the body is fully developed, and growth stops.
- As an adult, a person may decide to get a job or have children of their own.
- Adults are more responsible for their actions and are completely independent of their parents.
Old Age
- This is the final stage of the human life cycle.
- Parts of the body begin to ache more, and people tend to have more health issues.
- Due to declining eye-sight, hearing, and balance, older people tend to fall more and may suffer injuries.
- During old age, people may become more reliant on others for their care and may become less independent.
