Specialized Assignments (PR 1.40.01)
- Interview/Evaluation Committees consist of at least 3 members, including one from the specialized unit with equal rank to the announced position.
- Advertisement Length (Postings > 3 Months): Posted openings are advertised for at least 14 calendar days.

- Doctor's Note Requirement: Required if a chronic sick leave user, or absent for four or more consecutive days, injured on/off duty, or used sick leave within a week of overtime.
- Doctor's Note Contents: Must include practitioner's name, type of practice, patient's name, dates of treatment (including absence dates), return-to-duty date (and any restrictions), signature, contact information.
- No Doctor's Note Consequences: No pay status until a doctor's note is provided.
- Supervisor Review Considerations: Includes repeated incidents, taking leave with regular days off, leave after denied annual/holiday, before/after annual leave, after overtime, or chronic sick leave.
- Max Sick Leave Incidents: 5 incidents per anniversary year.
- Unsatisfactory Attendance Handling: Counseling, attendance watch, Employee Development Plan, potential disciplinary action.
- Return to Work on Limited Duty: Approved by the Chief.
