- Special duty assignment opportunities are to be announced via email and on the Fire Department website at least 10 days before the application closing date.
- Applications (F.D. 015) and related documents, certifications, and information must be received within posted time limits.
- Section Heads must compile relevant selection criteria, like attendance, certifications, disciplinary history, rank, and standardized interview questions.
- The Fire Chief and/or Human Resources Department must approve the list.
- A diverse interview panel of 3-5 members will be selected/approved by the appropriate Assistant Chief.
- The panel interviews and scores each applicant based on standardized assessment responses and panel review of selection criteria.
- A final applicant list will be compiled based on the interview panel's overall score and presented to the appropriate Assistant Chief for review.
- The Fire Chief retains final authority for any assignment.
