Republic Act 7077 (RA 7077)

Origin of Drugs:
- Natural - anything that comes from nature
- Synthetic - anything that is produced artificially or processed inside a laboratory.

- Stimulants - “Uppers”

- Hallucinogens - “Psychedelic drugs”
How are Drugs Taken?
- Smoking - The drug is inhaled, goes to the lungs and is then rapidly absorbed into the bloodstream.
- Snorting - Snorted chemicals will enter the bloodstream through the mucus membrane in the nose.
- Oral Route - Swallowing the drugs allows the drugs to move onto the stomach where they are absorbed by the stomach lining and then enter the bloodstream.
- Injection - Injecting or putting fluid into the body, usually with a syringe and a hollow needle which is pierced through the skin to a sufficient depth for the drugs to be administered into the body.
- Suppositories - Drugs is absorbed through the mucus membrane in the rectum.
