Part-Time Employees

  • Part-time employees work less than 80 hours bi-weekly.

  • Part-time unrepresented employees at the maximum of their pay range receive an annual lump-sum payment of 3% computed from regular base-pay earnings over the previous 26 pay periods.
  • They accrue annual leave and sick time as per the Sheriff's Policy Manual.
  • Part-time employees with a weekly work schedule of 30 hours or more are eligible for health benefits.

Identification Cards

  • All employees, volunteers, vendors, and contractors of the Broward Sheriff's Office are issued an identification card with their name, photograph, and classification.

Authorized Badges/Identification

  • Deputy sheriffs are issued identification cards with their name and photograph, identifying them as a deputy sheriff.
